Canton, Texas – July 28, 2008  Legacy Dental Group announced today the addition of Oral Surgeon Dr. Ketan Parekh to the local group. Dr. Parekh will be practicing out of the Canton office on Thursdays, while Dr. Pollock continues his practice on Tuesdays.

As a youth, Dr. Parekh grew up in a small southeast Kansas town much like Rockwall. Says Dr. Parekh, “Where I grew up, your worth didn’t depend on either money or property, it depended on keeping your word and working hard. That’s the work ethic I still live by today. I am so happy to add the community of Canton and surrounding area to the people I serve.”

Dr. Parekh shared his feelings about working in East Texas, “I feel as though I’ve never left home. The people here are friendly and genuine. A smile is always the first thing people around here greet you with. Being able to help patients improve that smile gives me great joy.”

Dr. Gerard Macy, spokesman for the group, explained that the need for specialized dental care has grown as the surrounding area continues to develop. "We have always felt a part of the local community and we are very pleased to be able to offer our neighbors more. This addition is a part of our long term vision of building a regional care center where patients can receive every kind of dental care available."

Dr. Glenn Stern spoke about the commitment of Legacy to the community at large. “When someone hurts and you can help them feel better, you realize how important it is to be here for them. The addition of Dr. Parekh places a highly skilled and qualified Oral Surgeon in Canton two days each week, doubling the availability and greatly reducing the time to be seen and treated.”

“Our hope is to give people an alternative to driving into Dallas.” says Dr. Ben Bratcher. He continued, “Offering dental surgery one day a week was important. But extending that to two days really opens up options for patients who need that care. And we are thrilled to have Dr. Parekh as part of the team.”
