Canton, Texas – May 16, 2008 Legacy Dental Group announced today the awarding of the Second-Annual Legacy $5,000 Scholarship to Canton High School senior, Cody Yarbrough. The announcement was made at a special ceremony at the Legacy Dental care center and office.

The ceremony began with Dr. Ben Bratcher explaining why Legacy started this program. “We have so much passion for continuing education. And we obviously have a strong passion for the health professional field. But something else that’s important to us is investing in the future of our community.”

Dr. Glenn Stern explained the process the group goes through to select the right candidate for this prestigious award, “We each go through all applications and try to hone in on the one we feel has the strongest skill set for the medical field. Many of this year’s candidates were qualified and will go on to be successful students and doctors. But Cody was the favorite candidate.”

Dr. Gerard Macy congratulated the Senior. “Cody, we know you’ll be successful where ever you decide to start your career. But our hope is you’ll come back here to Canton.”

Attendees included Yarbrough’s parents; Canton High School assistant principal, Nerissa Erickson, school board member, Terry Patterson; and superintendant of schools, Dr. Jerome Stewart.
